Lowering Springs - Using lowering springs is likely the most common method of lowering your vehicle due to the moderately small cost involved. However, you cannot adjust the height of springs like you can with coilovers, therefore it’s important that you take some precise measurements before you purchase a set of lowering coil springs.

There are two types of lowering springs... progressive rate and linear rate springs. The difference between the two is the gap of their coils. Progressive rate springs have coils with noticeably bigger gaps at the top and bottom while linear rate springs have evenly spaced coils throughout. All things being equal, a vehicle sitting on linear springs is going to be easier to navigate on a road course or track, but will more than likely have a rougher ride than progressive springs.

Lowering springs are offered in different lengths (typically in inches) that you can choose from. Once again, they're not adjustable, so measure and choose carefully before buying.

Lowering Coilovers - Coilovers are our preferred method of lowering a car because you can adjust the height. However, they are as not as readily available for all vehicles. Lowering coilovers come in 2 varieties: Budget coilovers and Performance coilovers. Performance coilovers are typically designed with racing, performance and comfort in mind. Budget coilovers will definitely accomplish your lowering objective and they are not terrible but typically, they will not deliver the ride quality of a performance coilover.

Cut Springs – We don’t actually provide this service but, if you have access to an angle grinder, you can take a shot at cutting your existing coil springs. This is a crap shoot… Good Luck! An aftermarket set of quality lowering springs are much shorter and they also have more coils. This will not be the case if you cut your existing coils.

Air Bag Lowering Kit - Using an air suspension setup to lower your vehicle gives you the ability to lift the suspension by filling the air bags manually or with the click of a remote button depending on the system you buy. You will also be able to set multiple positions for different usages i.e. driving or parking. Complete air suspension kits include: 4 air bags, compressor and a switch panel. Keep in mind that quality air suspensions don’t come cheap but they are nice.

Leaf Spring Flip Kit - Another option on a leaf sprung vehicle is reversing the existing leaf spring set up by placing the axle on top of the leaf spring, which is referred to as a flip kit. With a leaf sprung vehicle, you can achieve maximum drop by combining a flip kit with lowering blocks. Depending on how low you end up going, you may need to install a C-notch above your real axle. The purpose of the notch is to give you a greater clearance between your frame and axle.

Drop Spindles - Drop spindles are likely one of the best ways to lower your vehicle properly by two or three inches without affecting the ride quality or factory suspension geometry. It’s worth paying more for a high-quality spindle from a reputable manufacturer; cheaper spindles are known to crack and shear. Combining drop spindles with a two-inch lowering coil can give you up to four inches of drop.

Not unlike any aftermarket modification you make to any vehicle, there are pros and cons involved that will need to be addressed.
